  • Pathway to becoming a Certified Dementia Practitioner
    • Attend this 8-hour training by one of our Certified Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care Trainers.
    • This is the required ‘live’ seminar for those pursuing certifications as a CDP and who qualify for CDP.
    • Dementia curriculum includes: Overview of dementia, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, communication, feelings, depression, repetitive behaviors, paranoia, hallucinations, wandering, hoarding, aggressive behaviors, catastrophic reactions, intimacy, sexuality, personal care, bathing, dressing, toileting, nutrition, pain, activities, environment, staff and family support, diversity, cultural competence, spiritual care, end of life issues.

 

Who should attend: All health care professionals, front line staff, CNAs, home health aides, activity professionals, social workers, nurses, rehab professionals, administrators, Dementia Unit Managers and / or Supervisors who provide direct supervision of a dementia unit. Anyone who works with dementia clients in all health care and home care settings.
